Vision Statement

The leadership of GPC (Session and Diaconate) have prayerfully and thoughtfully sought to establish a vision for GPC that is in submission to God's will, seeks to glorify Him and edify the body both locally and globally.  Our vision is to be faithful to scripture, Christ-centered in our worship, and active in taking the Gospel to the ends of the earth while equipping our family to grow in wisdom and love of the Heavenly Father.  Our vision statement is comprised of six areas that we will seek to align our body and ministries around to be a healthy and well balanced part of the body of Christ.

Scripture

We believe that the Bible is the sole authority for living and is our basis for preaching, teaching, worship, discipline, and theology. Our Heavenly Father has given us the Holy Spirit to bring us wisdom, encouragement, truth and correction through the revealed Word. Through Scripture we understand our world and develop joyful relationships as demonstrated by Christ, whose love and sacrifice brings abundant and eternal life.

“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” II Tim 3:16

Worship

We believe that God is the subject and source of Christian worship through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ; worship directed anywhere else is idolatry. We are committed to worship that exalts the character and work of God as set forth in His word. The scripturally appropriate response to God’s grace toward us is to live our lives as worship to God. GPC worships together on the Lord’s Day to express adoration for God, grow in Christ-likeness, and evangelize through Christ-centered, scripture-directed worship.

“God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:24

Outreach

We believe that salvation through faith in Jesus Christ should result in a life lived for others as guided by the Holy Spirit. We desire to be Christ’s witnesses in our community and throughout the world. GPC will provide opportunities for our members to further God's kingdom and glorify Him by shining as lights in a dark world.

"You shall receive power after the Holy Spirit is come upon you and you shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem and all Judea and in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the world". Acts 1:8

Discipleship

We believe that followers of Christ should have an ever-growing relationship with Christ through the ministry of the Word, by work of the Holy Spirit, and in fellowship with a community of other believers. Small groups and one-on-one relationships are important for personal growth as well as the growth of our whole church family. GPC will promote and provide an environment that encourages discipleship through all church activities.

"What you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also." II Timothy 2:2

Community

We believe as a church family that God desires for us to cultivate meaningful relationships, causing growth in our Christian faith. GPC will encourage fellowship and develop community, thus strengthening marriages, families, singles, and small groups.

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10: 24-25

Stewardship

We believe God’s people are called to service by the Holy Spirit and by the example of our Lord, Jesus Christ. As God’s people, we serve through the giving of our time, our possessions, and our spiritual gifts to demonstrate the love of Christ to others. GPC will seek God’s wisdom to be faithful, deliberate stewards of His provision.

“Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33
